Chronicles of a Trickster
5. Those Pesky Feline Urges
There are cats, then there are people, people who like cats and cats that for some reason; like people. Then there are "catpeople". Those types who are human d with feline characteristics and powers that pushed them up to the next level, staking prey of the night, slashing down their enemies and even taking the permanently extreme when needed. Sadly, Launa isn't that but she can still do those things. Species-wise, she's a domesticated type and like most domestic types she goes into the same pitfalls like the real thing these are some good examples.
1. The good scratch
Most cats often take pleasure when their owners scratch them on the top of their heads or stomachs to give off an affirmative purr, Launa realizes this when she was picking up a box and rubbed her back against a rough wall. Strangely enough, she felt a great pleasure that streamed across her body and drops the box, before she knows it, Launa was taking great pleasure in rubbing herself against the scratchy wall side-to-side, up and down, tail swaying to and frow. Launa was quick to snap out of it when she let out a long soft purr. Trying to regain consciousness she picked up her box and left the wall but not without getting another purr from sliding her tail against the wall.
2. Cat food
Food shopping is commonplace for her and considering her wealth there was no problem in ever going hungry but now an then she goes out of the way to make up excuse to get some special treats and even some other tasty things Launa sometimes uses physical disguises to get through the populace but most of the time, she resorts to using perception fields. A special illusion chant that makes people see her as something else rather than what she really is. She uses it on a day of food shopping at the local market and coming across the pet food aisle she came across a section of the dried goods and remembered a commercial on TV hours earlier for "Happy Cat" and decides to buy a box. At home she cringed at the idea of trying something only a real cat would eat but a single kibble was enough to get her hooked. Strangely even better than junk food. That soon applied to canned goods and even tuna but tries not to overdo it as like most products that promised great health and the trademark "shiny coat" as the glossy finish on her fine black fur was a clear sign that she needs to stop.
3. The Joy of 'Meowing"
Meowing as cats do often denotes trying to speak to their human owners or a depiction of other known functions, but sometimes they often make their song in collectives in the alleyways of the cities around the world. Launa wasn't a stranger to join them. Giving out their soothing cat calls the alley was filled under those sounds and it was the mostly the most exhilarating experience ever, Except for one human who couldn't stand hearing those annoying meows need to stop and has had it. Taking up a large boot, he comes out of the window and with all his might toss the dirt-lined boot at the fence where all the cats where singing and while the others were quick to get away, Launa was lost in the moment before getting hit right in the face by the five-pound piece of footwear.
Know that all that incessant noise has stopped, the man can finally get some sleep, but as soon as he walked away he heard a sharp sound of slamming metal but dismissed it quickly as one of the nighty garbage runs and walks way from the windowsill. Then a loud crash erupted right behind him and sends him flying headlong into the wall and falls onto the bed, Regaining consciousness, he looked back what caused the explosion and it was actually his car thrown up to his fifth floor window with the car alarm sounding off everyone around his apartment started to wake up and complain of the racket when he looked over his car and out through the hole he doesn't see anything that would throw a two ton car that high and sees nothing in sight except for the same black cat who he threw the shoe at before leaving off into the darkness. Minutes after the throw, she gained the favors of several cats that for some reason thanked her for what they can never do.
4. Vices and Weaknesses
There are some things Launa can enjoy with those few feline urges, and then there are some that are hard to break or just try to stay away from. Case in point, catnip has an, lack of a better word, adverse reaction to her. Similar to having a sugar rush on steroids, a single hit of Catnip would make her go totally manic for a few seconds before going into a total crash which is totally not pretty. Then there is a simple ball of yarn, a playful little aspect that cats enjoy, Launa couldn't help herself to try it out but often it becomes a total pain when that ball loosens up and gets all over her. It often breaks her heart that she resorts to ripping the strands with her bare hands just to get herself out of it.
Dealing with small rodents almost feels like the low point in these urges resorting to the instinct of the big cats to chase something normal human-made traps can solve. But when she catches a small rodent roaming around her place, she chases after it until it ether gets away or she captures it and swallows it whole not caring even for a second of where that rodent has been. She often has a few incidence in mouse catching especially one where she has to stop when the rodent makes it through a hole in the wall. For smaller cats they can stop easily and reach in But for Launa being nearly a half-ton would crash head first. Also for the most part don't get her started on the idea of "self-cleaning".
Most of these are attributes of what is part of her feline side but throughout the hundreds of years of life she has gained she has learned to gain control over those urges and at will let herself get loose in them because it's the often the simple joy of living the non-human life that makes it so simple and pleasurable except when being half-human, you can do a lot more.
